BEA-Rocks

Well Yeeeeeeha!!! Check it out at:
http://www.bea.com/framework.jsp?CNT=homepage_main.jsp&FP=/content

It is official - BEA AquaLogic Commerce Services has been released. (Formerly known as Elastic Path Software) Don’t worry, EP is still alive and well, it is an OEM deal. You can still buy EP from EP.

Press release- http://news.thomasnet.com/fullstory/509850/rss/2585

This is great news for everyone at Elastic Path. Good work team! As you can imagine it has been crazy busy at EP for the last little while; I have spent the last 6 weeks on the road which started with a trip to Boulder Colorado, a week long trip to London to meet with a few clients and partners, and ended it with a few interviews for candidates to open the Elastic Path Software Inc UK office. Then I was off to San Francisco, and then New York for a week.

Wow what a city New York is, a definite must see, if you can get there for a holiday, I would suggest it. If I had to choose one word to describe New York, it would be BIG!! Everything in New York is big. The buildings are big, the food portions are big, and the New York attitude is big. What a blast. I can’t wait to go back for a holiday to do some shopping. Unfortunately I was there for business, so I did not get a chance to do much site seeing, but I did visit the Statue of Liberty, we checked out Ground Zero, we went to the top of the Empire State Building, and last but not least we went to view a taping of the Colbert Report.

Yes, I was there for business so we did have a bunch of meetings as well. Velda and I are going to take a short trip to New York in April, a bit of a mini honeymoon for us.

Then I was off to Las Vegas for a few of days for BEA Kick off. I guess you could say I was an On the Road Scholar – LOL. It was hard being away from our new son and Mommy on these trips.

Anyways, this is great news for us, as BEA is a great company, and we are very lucky to be forging a partnership with them. Their corporate culture is very much like ours, and both companies agree that this is definitely a long term relationship that will generate a lot of success for both parties.

OK !

Now for the important stuff “ MALCOLM”

He is now close to 18 pounds and is able to turn himself over on his stomach and back again on his back. Who knew such a small accomplishment could generate so much excitement! He loves to laugh out loud and is always smiling and talking and looking around – so much energy for his age. His 5 month birthday is coming up in just a few days, time goes by so fast – it seems just like a few weeks ago he was sleeping, eating, and pooing (not in that order necessarily) and not doing much else – now he’s really a little boy and loves to play all day. He’s now sleeping about 9 hours straight a night. which is great for Mom and Dad, although he was sleeping through by 8 weeks as well – lucky us!

Please see the latest pictures of Malcolm at the bottom of this Blog.

As far as Mommy Williams goes (in reference to Velda, not Yvonne!) she just attended her first mothers group outing at Carrie Harrison-Ell’s house in Morgan Creek where she got to hang out with a bunch of other wonderful mothers and their newborns. Mommy and Malcolm enjoy reading books together and watching “Pocoyo” on TV, and going for walks. We can’t wait for summer so we can start going to the park and learning to swim!

Over and out until next time!

January 27th- Just a quick update

I know, I know it has been awhile since we have last updated the blog.

Well I am here to tell you that I am back on the blog ship and hoping to update the blog at least once a month, or more as soon as Velda gets photoshop installed.

Anyways, things are great with Malcolm. He now weighs 16 pounds 2 ounces and he is quite the little active giant. We took him to the doctor last week and the Doc was very impressed at Malcolm’s development for only a 3 month baby. He said he has a nice big head with a lot of brains, and seems to be developing early football skills.( which he must of got from his father). Ok maybe not.

Anyways the little one is doing great, and Mommy and Daddy are very grateful that he is so healthy.

As far as any other updates go. Things are crazy busy at EP right now. We are on pace for our best Quarter ever, and that big Partnership stuff that I was talking about a while back ( The one I can't talk about until the 14th of February) well it is going fantastic. I can’t wait till we can announce it to the world on the 14th. We are sure things will be taking off more than they already have when that happens. Crazy. Keep an eye out for us in the weekly press around that time. Vancouver Sun, Globe and Mail, BCTV, and Global news etc... We may be mentioned . At least thats what our hope is.

Over and out until next time! (Pics below are from Christmas)

Been Busy

Hi Everybody

I am sorry that it has been awhile since we last updated the Blog, but things have been bit crazy at work and home.

So here is the update.

Malcolm is growing at an amazing rate. He is up to just over 14 pounds, and that’s without the dirty diaper. He is smiling all the time and even lets outs the occasional laugh every once in awhile. I am not sure why this is, but my guess is that he is ecstatic that the Dallas Cowboys have qualified for the playoffs. YEEEEEEHAA!

As for work at EP, things are going great. We just had our name mentioned in the Wall Street Journal.

Here is a link to the online article if you are interested.
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06341/744352-96.stm. Unfortunately there was no traction for this article, but you can’t win them all. Maybe it was because they did not properly explain what we did. Anyways, I though some of you might be interested in this.

As for recent site launches, check out

Over and out for now -

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone!

Malcolm is getting bigger and brighter each day - he knows his mom and dad and smiles a lot (especially when he's passing gas) (not unlike his father). He's just starting to fit into the 3 month clothes now - a little early since he's only 7 weeks this Friday coming up. He's also taken to headbutting whoever is holding him when he gets really excited - so mom and dad have learned to protect their jaw and nose when holding him! Even though it seems like he's hitting his head really hard, he never seems to mind and just keeps rolling his head around.

We had our first night away from him this weekend to go to Elastic Path's Christmas party - Macolm stayed with Grandma Williams and was "an angel" (her words!) We missed him tons that night. We're staying over at Grandma and Grandpa Edmunds on Wednesday of this week as Dad has to go to Kansas City that night for work. Hope he's an angel again!

Till next week -

Velda and Mark and Macolm

November 19th-2006

Yeeeeeeeeeha! I thought it was possible, my head and my heart were telling me it was possible, but I had to see it for myself. Cowboys 24 Colts 14

Romo was good, Glenn was incredible, and the defense was unstoppable during the pass rush. Payton Manning looked average at best.

Dallas paper front Page headline- Defence
Indianapolis paper front page headline- Less than perfect

Wow!!! Malcolm was just as shocked as I was.

As for the Williams house, things are still going great, Malcolm is a big ball of fun and love, mommy a daddy are besides themselves with happiness and things are going well at EP.

Talking about EP first;

We just signed that big deal I was talking about a few weeks ago, the one that is realy going to put us on the map. (More on this at a later date.) Good work Harry!

We have had few site launches in the last few weeks;

http://www.bondandbond.co.nz/
http://www.kokobino.com/shop/

http://www.katharinehamnett.com/

http://www.dutchbulbs.com/bulbs/

…and I should be posting some press clips from the Wall Street Journal etc, in the coming weeks.

All and all things are great.

As for Family stuff, Malcolm had his share of hugs and kisses this weekend that’s for sure. He got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Edmunds, when they babysat while Mom and Dad went to see Borat. (What a funny movie!!) Thanks again Mom and Dad Edmunds!

Then we went over to see Auntie Vonda and Uncle Greg for awhile. (Yes I know-we still have not posted any pics of Auntie Vonda, and Uncle Greg yet. Do not worry they will show up eventually. Well, maybe the pics of hot Auntie Vonda. Greg doesn’t take good pictures. LOL-(Laugh out Loud- for you non internet users)

You know that Internet thing that thing that is made up of a series of tubes.

Anyways, back to Malcolm and Uncle Greg.

Before Malcolm arrived, I gave Greg a choice. He could buy Malcolm Harley stuff or he could buy Malcolm Canucks stuff. Well, Greg has officially made is choice, Harley stuff it is. On Saturday night Greg presented Malcolm with a pair of overalls a couple of hats and a Harley shirt. (I think that was all)

Phew!! No Canucks stuff. I think that’s a good choice. The Canucks cause us all way to much pain. Pain I do not want my son to go through.

Good choice Greg!

Anyways back to the hugs and kisses. Saturday was followed up by another wonderful Sunday filled with love and Pandemonium as the Cowboys won and Grandma and Grandma Williams paid a visit.

Here are a few of the pics we took (Grandma and Grandpa Williams) , as well as a few more of Grandma and Grandpa Edmunds.

Over and out

Cowboys Rule!!!!!!!!

Talk to you next week

PS-Sorry about the grainy photos. I shrunk them to much this week -OOOPS

Nov 11, 2006 (Velda)

Posted by Velda:
Grandma Edmunds and Great Grandma Harper come by for a visit. Great Grandma knitted a sweater, booties, a hat and a blanket for Malcolm – they are so beautiful! She also started Malcolm’s piggy bank. We’ll treasure these items forever. This is Great Grandma Harper’s 13th great grandchild.

We received a beautiful card and some always appreciated money from Great Grandma Williams and Auntie Anthea this week as well – which goes a long way towards buying diapers and all the other stuff Malcolm goes through so fast! We can’t wait to see Great Grandma Williams and Anthea and all the rest of the family next year in Italy – Malcolm wants to meet his Great Grandma from Scotland and hear her call him a “wee bairn”.

Mark and I were talking tonight about our grandfathers and how we wish they were here with us during this special time. They would have loved to have met Malcolm and been a part of his life, but we’re confident they are watching over him.

Thanks for all the presents and thank you cards are coming out this week – I’ve finally gotten all the addresses together and am posting them this week. Mark and I are overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity towards our family – Malcolm is so loved and treasured by everyone in his little life. Each and every one of you have made this time so special to us.

Auntie Vonda, Uncle Greg (the angry German) and cousin Aysha came over this weekend as well – no pics posted cause Vonda was wearing her glasses (ha!).

Where does all the time go? I have more days where I don’t brush my teeth till 5 PM than I care to count. Malcolm is a great baby and very good – but I cannot get my act together on most days until at least early afternoon – it’s a cycle of feeding, changing, playing, sleeping and he dictates the schedule. A simple outing takes hours to prepare for, and I go through more laundry (both mine and his) since I tend to forget burp clothes and end up walking around with more milk ON me than IN him. I’m still getting used to the sudden lack of structure in my daily life – I tried to impose a schedule at first, then gave up once I realized that I no longer call the shots. It’s both frustrating and hugely relieving to give up that control in your life. It’s humbling to submit yourself body and soul to such a tiny human being.

Until next time (when Mark does his next post – although he did do the pictures!)

November 4th 2006

Well - it has been another eventful week here at the Williams house.

Malcolm is doing very well. It looks like he will be able to go off his medication very soon. This makes mom and dad very happy.

As you can see Malcolm is resting his eyes, after reading the paper and seeing the results of the Carolina Versus Dallas game. He said he felt at peace.

Dallas 35 - Carolina 14 (Paper of Choice- Wall Street Journal)

Who knew he could read already. Wow!!!

What a difference a week makes. Tony Romo looked great in his debut. No!!! we have not ordered a Romo Jersey yet, but we have added one to our wish list on the Dallascowboys.com store just in case. LOL

As for my trip to San Fran, and the trade show I attended - it was not a complete loss; I did get to talk to some great people, and who knows, there may be a deal out there somewhere. I would have rather been at the office making sales calls though; it would have been far more productive week for me if I was.

Of course - I'd MUCH rather be with my wife and son (who by the way is back up to his birth weight of 8 pounds 9 ounces thanks to his voracious feeding.)

As for 5.0 and life at Elastic Path Software Inc - things are looking pretty good for us right now. Harry is doing a good job maneuvering his way through the Sales Prevention team (Lawyers) at “company X” (Sorry I cannot mention their name yet) on a deal that will really strengthen are position in the ecommerce market.

We are also starting to see the effect of our investment in a PR Firm called Schwartz. Harry, Gord, Dave and Jason have been talking to a lot of analysts lately and it is starting to pay off, as a few articles have already been published about EP and our customers. I will try to keep you posted if anything really exciting comes out that you may be interested in reading in the coming weeks.

As for 5.0, it is finally here. At 8am on Monday morning – EP 5.0 will be distributed to over 50 customers’ world wide. Right now every PD developer at Elastic Path Software is working hard through the night to make sure this happens, and to make sure that every possible bug in the system is found and that every customer that receives Elastic Path 5.0 is more than satisfied.

I cannot tell you how great of a job of job our PD team has done. I am very proud of every one of them. I just don’t want them to know it, so please keep this it quiet, as I do not want them to think I have gone soft.

Over and out!

How about those Cowboys!!!
